Privacy notice

Luna Chart is currently in private beta. This notice explains, in plain language, what the app stores and why. It may be updated as the product evolves.

Who is responsible for your data

Luna Chart is currently operated by Kingsley Chinedu Akara, trading as Luna Chart. Kingsley Chinedu Akara is the data controller responsible for the personal information processed through Luna Chart.

What Luna Chart stores

When you use Luna Chart with an account, the app may store:

  • Account information — your email address and an optional display name.
  • Cycle settings — the first day of your last period and your typical cycle and period lengths, used to estimate your cycle day and phase.
  • Daily tracking entries you choose to log — symptoms and their severity, flow information, mood, sleep hours, and any notes you write.
  • Custom symptoms you add to your tracking list.
  • Feedback you send us through the in-app feedback form, if you choose to use it.

Why this information is used

Your information is used only to provide the product to you:

  • Cycle tracking and estimated cycle timing
  • Your symptom history and calendar views
  • Personal pattern analysis based on your logged entries
  • Reports and exports you choose to create

Your tracking entries are not sold, and they are not shared with advertisers.

Our reasons for using your information

Providing Luna Chart

We use basic account information — such as your email address and optional display name — because it is necessary to provide the Luna Chart service you ask us to provide: creating your account, signing you in, confirming your email address, and helping you recover access.

Health information

Luna Chart processes menstrual-cycle, symptom and related health information only after you provide explicit health-data consent. This information is used to provide your cycle tracking, personal symptom history, pattern analysis, and the reports and exports you choose to create. You can withdraw this consent at any time from your account settings.

Product feedback and security

We may use limited personal information where necessary for our legitimate interests in improving and securing the Luna Chart private beta — for example, handling feedback you choose to send, confirming beta eligibility, and protecting the service and its users from misuse — provided those interests do not override your rights and interests.

Legal requirements

We may process personal information where necessary to meet applicable legal obligations, including responding to valid data-protection rights requests.

Luna Chart is a private-beta product, and the details of this section may be refined as the product's data-protection arrangements are reviewed. This notice will be updated if they change.

Health information

Some of what you can enter in Luna Chart is health-related. This includes the information you choose to log, such as:

  • Menstrual-cycle dates and settings
  • Period flow
  • Symptoms and symptom severity
  • Mood and sleep
  • Notes you choose to write
  • Custom symptoms you add

This information is used to provide your personal cycle tracking, symptom history, pattern comparisons, insights, and the reports and exports you choose to create.

Your explicit consent

Before Luna Chart processes any health-tracking information for these features, we ask for your explicit consent — a separate, unticked checkbox during setup. Consent is never assumed from signing up, browsing the app, or agreeing to the beta terms, and no consent box is ever pre-ticked.

We record when you gave consent and which version of the consent wording you saw, so there is a clear history. Without consent, Luna Chart will not save or process health-tracking information for your account.

Withdrawing consent

You can withdraw your health-data consent from your Luna Chart account settings at any time, in the same place you gave it. If you withdraw consent, Luna will stop using your health-tracking information for personal tracking and pattern analysis.

When withdrawing, you can also choose to permanently delete your health-tracking history — your cycle settings, tracked symptoms, daily logs and symptom entries. You can delete that history separately at any time without withdrawing consent, and you can delete your whole account if you prefer. Withdrawing consent does not affect any emails or feedback settings.

Who can see your information

Luna Chart is built so that each signed-in user can access only their own tracking information. Access rules are enforced at the database level, so other users cannot browse your entries, settings, or feedback.

Your controls

From your account settings you can:

  • Edit your display name, cycle settings, and tracked symptoms
  • See and withdraw your health-data consent
  • Export a summary of your recent cycles from the Reports page
  • Delete your entire tracking history while keeping your account
  • Delete your account, which removes the data attached to it

Your data-protection rights

You can ask Luna Chart at any time to: access the personal information held about you (you can also download your own health-tracking data from your account settings), correct inaccurate information, delete your information, or stop or restrict certain uses of it. Contact privacy@lunachart.online to use any of these rights.

If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, you can complain to Luna Chart first at the address above. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

How long we keep your information

Account and profile information

We keep your account and profile information while you maintain a Luna Chart account and while it is needed to provide the service.

If you delete your Luna Chart account, your account-related information will be removed in accordance with Luna Chart's deletion process, subject to any information that may need to be retained for legitimate legal, security or accountability purposes.

Health-tracking information

Your menstrual-cycle information, symptom logs, mood, sleep, flow, notes and related health-tracking information are kept while you maintain your Luna Chart account and while the information is needed to provide your personal tracking, insights and reports.

You can delete your tracking history from your Account settings. You may also delete your account.

If you withdraw health-data consent, Luna Chart stops using the information for normal health-tracking and pattern-analysis features. You can also choose to permanently delete your retained health-tracking information.

Inactive beta accounts

During the private beta, accounts that have been inactive for approximately 12 months may be reviewed to determine whether the account and associated information are still required. Where appropriate, Luna Chart may contact the user before deleting an inactive account. Automatic deletion is not currently implemented.

Feedback

Beta feedback may be retained for up to 12 months where it is still useful for improving Luna Chart. Feedback that is no longer required should be deleted.

Consent records

Luna Chart keeps a record of health-data consent and withdrawal events for accountability purposes. The appropriate retention period for these records is under review as part of Luna Chart's data-protection process.

Deleted data and backups

When you delete information through Luna Chart, it is removed from the active application according to the deletion controls available to you. Some infrastructure providers may maintain temporary backup copies for limited periods as part of their normal backup and recovery processes.

Retention principle

We do not intend to keep personal information indefinitely when it is no longer needed. Retention periods are reviewed as Luna Chart develops beyond the private beta.

Beta status

Luna Chart is being tested as a private beta product. Features may change, and this notice may be updated as they do. If you have questions about your data during the beta, use the feedback form.

Medical limitation

Luna Chart is a tracking and informational tool. It does not provide medical diagnosis or treatment, and it does not diagnose PMS, PMDD, or any other condition. If you have concerns about your health, please speak with a qualified healthcare professional.
